The gently domed lid is decorated with large pink lotus flowers, yellow blossoms, broad green leaves and a delicately outlined crane, accompanied by a small butterfly. The composition is framed by a pale turquoise geometric border with fine gilt detailing.

The rounded porcelain body has a simple, elegant profile, with additional floral decoration to the sides. The lid lifts to reveal a white glazed interior.

Measuring 19 cm in diameter and 5.5 cm in height, this is a generously proportioned decorative box, suitable for a dressing table, console or as an accent on a coffee table.

The underside bears the Raynaud & Co. Limoges manufacturer's mark, together with the inscription *Fabriqué et Décoré Dans la Cité de Limoges* (Made and Decorated in the City of Limoges).
