The piece is made of transparent Murano glass using the characteristic “a treccia” technique, based on thick, twisted glass elements that form a braided-looking border around the photographic area.

The transparency and optical richness of the glass contrast with the patinated bronze mount and stand, creating a composition of great material refinement and strong sculptural presence.

The design is particularly representative of Carlo Scarpa’s celebrated collaboration with Venini, a period during which the architect explored the expressive possibilities of Murano glass through new textures, techniques, and formal solutions.

In this frame, a functional, everyday object is transformed into a small architectural and decorative piece.

Its design language is fully inscribed within the sophistication of Italian Art Deco and Venini’s exceptional artisanal tradition during the first half of the 20th century. Signed Venini.

It is in very good overall condition, with patina and slight signs of use consistent with its age.
