Side table from the Galaxy series, designed by Umberto Asnago for Giorgetti, Italy, 1980s. The top is an inset milk white glass panel with a beveled edge, set in a solid wood rim with a stepped profile. The cruciform pedestal has four fins with small square cut-outs, a nod to Viennese Secession design, and stands on a stepped square plinth base with small glides underneath.
The wood is stained in a warm honey tone. The glass is clean and the table is stable. Condition is good vintage, with light signs of age: a few small marks and scuffs, mostly along the base edge and the rim. No structural issues.
Measures 57 x 57 cm. The proportions suit use next to a sofa or lounge chair, or as a small bedside or occasional table. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
