This pair of armchairs, model 830, was designed by Gianfranco Frattini in 1954 and manufactured by Cassina in Italy.
The model is among Frattini's early designs for Cassina. Originally developed for a design competition held by textile entrepreneur Fede Cheti, the armchair went into production after Cesare Cassina presented the prototype.
The armchairs are characterized by their generously proportioned, curved armrests, upholstered backs, and tapered, angled legs.
Both armchairs are upholstered in older velvet in different shades of red. The upholstery shows signs of age and wear and needs to be replaced. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
designer records,
or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising
from
misattribution
