American mid-century modern two-piece daybed sectional sofa, circa 1950s–1960s, in the style of George Nelson.
The sectional consists of two independent daybed units that can be arranged together in an L-shaped configuration or used separately. Each section features a low-profile wood platform base supported by tapered legs with metal-capped feet. Rectangular upholstered backrests are supported by horizontal wood rails and exposed black metal brackets, creating an architectural silhouette.
The sectional has been newly reupholstered in a textured woven fabric in a warm beige, with a subtle geometric checkerboard pattern. All cushions have been fitted with new foam, providing renewed structure and support while maintaining the original proportions of the design.
The combination of exposed wood framing, metal supports, and modular upholstered elements reflects the functional approach to American modernist furniture design during the mid-20th century.
