Drawing on the longstanding Florentine tradition of figurative sculpture and decorative arts, the piece is cast as a stylized hand equipped with a spring mechanism to hold letters, business cards, memos, or photographs. Weighing 2.204 ounces of solid silver, it functions equally well as a desktop paperweight or a sculptural accent inside a curio cabinet. Hallmarked 800 alongside traces of the Italian silversmith mark.
