A refined French commode secrétaire in the Louis XVI style, finished in a lustrous ebonized French polish. The upper drawer opens down to reveal a tan leather writing surface and three small dovetailed drawers, combining the presence of a commode with the usefulness of a compact writing desk. Three drawers provide additional storage, while delicate brass outlining, original hardware, fluted corner details, and tapered legs lend the piece its crisp neoclassical character. Topped with white Carrara marble, this elegant secrétaire makes a striking addition to a study, bedroom, or living space.
