Offered is an antique (late 19th C. to early 20th C.) Tibetan handheld prayer wheel (Mani Khorlo), featuring a repoussé copper mantras on the metal drum, a chiseled Bamboo wood handle, and a weighted chain decorated with beads and a metal coin charm.
Spinning the wheel in a clockwise direction is believed to accumulate merit and send out spiritual prayers and blessings, and these are typically used during meditation by Tibetan Buddhist practitioners and pilgrims during recitation and quiet contemplation.
