A striking, highly decorative mid-20th century folding hand fan dynamically preserved within a custom fan-shaped giltwood shadow box frame.
The fan features an exquisite central lithograph portrait depicting two smiling women with flowers adorned in their hair, capturing a romanticized traditional Spanish or Mexican aesthetic. Flanked by textured black guard folds detailed with intricate, Art Deco-inspired gold geometric lines and geometric fretwork, the upper perimeter reveals a light tan paper leaf accented with subtle repeating floral motifs. The lower structure showcases smooth, natural finished wood ribs pivoting on a secure central metal rivet.
The piece is professionally mounted against a premium, textured blue-grey velvet or velour backing that provides an elegant color contrast to the fan's vibrant elements. Housed behind protective glass inside an ornate, custom-carved fan-shaped frame with a burnished gold-tone finish, this sculptural wall hanging is a perfect statement accent for Hollywood Regency, eclectic, or traditional interiors. Complete with pre-attached twisted metal wire on the reverse side, it arrives ready to hang.
