The design is intended to maintain distance between clothing, pets, and children and the woodburning fireplaces throughout the home. They are often referred to as “nursery guards" for their role in keeping children safe from the flames. This brass fireguard has acquired a nicely patinated surface over the years and is sure to be a nice addition to any space. Gently cleaned and tightened, ready for use in your home. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
