The original stone top has stunning, streaky white veining and offset round corners. It is in good condition with minimal surface scratching and etching, consistent with the commode’s age and continued use. The mahogany body has three wide, paneled drawers that open smoothly with rectangular brass bail pulls. The drawers’ locks are intact, but their key has been lost to time. Framing the drawers are two fluted panels that recall Greek columns, in keeping with the Louis XVI style’s preference for classical motifs. The piece stands on four turned mahogany legs. Gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, this commode is ready for use in your interiors. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
