It features a distinctive mosaic-like sunburst top on a geometric pedestal base. While this piece is rare today, Urso produced a series of tables utilizing these exact matching geometric base structures combined with acid-etched and relief-applied metal mosaic tops.

MATERIALS: Despite its copper appearance, the top plate is made of acid-etched brass that has been treated with chemical patinas to achieve deep, variegated copper and bronze tones. The base is constructed from walnut-veneered wood panels configured into a faceted hexagonal pillar.

CONSTRUCTION: Although the sunburst texture on top appears composed of individual strips embedded into wood, it is instead an integrated, heavy etched metal plate. The background sections are deeply chemically eaten away (etched), leaving the raised "rays" polished or treated with a different patina tone. This entire decorative metal shield is overlaid and secured onto a solid, wooden substrate core. The heavy-duty internal wooden bracing block brackets, L-shaped metal connecting plates, and uniform machine-threaded screws indicate a standardized workshop production template rather than standard hand-carved joinery.

Signature/Maker’s Mark: Nonexistent. Base dimensions: 14 inches x 12 inches. See less
