Beautifully hand-carved White Buffalo Kachina doll, featuring fur accents, a feathered bow, painted leather skirt, tiny shells and a rattle. The artist, Darlene John, is a recognized Navajo (Diné) artisan known for handcrafting Native American folk art, specifically detailed Kachina (Katsina) dolls.
While traditional Katsinam are central to Hopi religious and ceremonial culture in Arizona, Navajo artists like Darlene John create their own beautifully stylized interpretations of these figures for collectors.
