A breathtaking, authentic antique German porcelain/earthenware bulbous vase produced by the celebrated Franz Anton Mehlem factory in Bonn, Germany, under their prestigious Royal Bonn line. Dating precisely to the late Victorian or Edwardian era (circa 1890–1920), this over 100-year-old piece is a magnificent example of historic European pottery.
Decorated in a timeless Delft-style monochrome cobalt blue and white palette, the vase features an incredibly detailed, romanticized transferware scene of a historic castle tower overlooking a river and a lower courtyard village. This motif belongs to Mehlem's highly collectible series capturing famous landmarks along the scenic Rhine River. The landscape seamlessly wraps around the entire bulbous body, transitioning into a misty backdrop of sprawling trees, rolling clouds, and distant riverbanks.
