The rectangular tabletop is constructed from wide oak planks, displaying beautiful natural grain, visible wooden pegs and dowel joinery, and a richly aged surface with a warm brown patina. The table stands on four elegantly turned baluster legs, connected by an elaborate H-form stretcher featuring decorative turned elements and a central finial. The substantial construction, traditional joinery, and finely detailed turnings reflect the distinctive character of French Louis XIV style furniture. The oak has developed a beautiful naturally aged patina, with rich variations in color, visible grain, and surface markings accumulated over generations of use. The original character of the wood has been carefully preserved, including age-related imperfections that contribute to the table's warmth and authenticity. The table has been structurally revised, cleaned, and polished with wax, preserving its naturally aged finish. Solid and stable, with wear, scratches, and age-related wood movement consistent with its antique character.
