The radial arrangement and stylised foliage reflect the Islamic-derived decorative vocabulary that remained influential in Valencian ceramics while heraldic motifs associated with Christian European patrons became increasingly prominent. ㅤ Manises developed into an important centre for Hispano-Moresque ceramics, producing elaborate wares for aristocratic and wealthy European patrons. Pieces from this tradition combine techniques and ornamental forms inherited from Islamic Spain with European heraldic imagery, creating a distinctive fusion characteristic of Valencian pottery of the period. ㅤ The dish displays age-related wear around the rim and a hairline consistent with its considerable age.
