The front face is mounted with a pair of signature heart-shaped escutcheon plates which originally supported a front pen rest. Inside, all three compartments retain their blown-glass ink wells. One of three recorded to exist. Produced in England around 1905, the design is closely related to documented metalwork designed by C.F.A. Voysey and executed by makers such as R. Ll. Rathbone or Jesson, Birkett & Co. Triple-well variants in this pattern are exceptionally uncommon compared to standard single or double forms. Measuring 37.5 cm long by 16 cm deep and 7.5 cm high, the brass displays honest surface patination and light wear from handling. See less
