A 19th century country Sheraton side table in pine, with the ring-turned, tapering legs typical of the style. The two-board top with softly rounded corners is secured with square cut nails and sits above a single dovetailed drawer with its turned wood knob. Traces of early salmon-red paint remain on the back apron and legs, under a warm, mellow surface built up over generations of use. A later incised hexafoil motif decorates one side apron. Useful as an end table, nightstand, or small writing table.
