Rich turquoise, rust, ochre and deep blue decoration creates a bold composition of stylized floral and foliate motifs characteristic of the Gouda pottery tradition.

Made in Holland, the vase reflects the expressive decorative style associated with Dutch Art Deco ceramics of the 1920s and 1930s. Contrasting geometric bands frame the central design, while dark glazed borders emphasize its sculptural form. Sourced during a recent antiquing trip to the small Dutch town of Edam, this piece is equally appealing displayed on its own or incorporated into a collection of European art pottery.

The underside bears hand-painted markings reading “107,” “Haag,” “Schoonhoven” and “Holland,” along with additional decorator’s markings.

In very good vintage condition with some age-related wear, including surface marks and wear to the underside consistent with age and handling. Displays beautifully. See less
