This beautiful set consists of two vintage post-WWII (1945–1952) Occupied Japan porcelain mantle lustre lamp bases.
Traditionally styled to mimic elaborate 19th-century Victorian cased glass, these rare ceramic adaptations feature a crisp white porcelain body adorned with a vibrant pink border, heavy gold gilt scrolling, and meticulously hand-painted floral bouquets. Sixteen 6-inch-long, faceted crystal arrow/spear prisms hang from the scalloped crown-shaped rims to capture and scatter light. The hollowed holes embedded into the circular steps of the base indicate that this specific pair was manufactured to be wired as electric boudoir lamps rather than used purely as traditional candle holders.

Handmade, so they are slightly mismatched. I replaced a missing spear prism, one is wider than the others, and one is chipped on the tip. Other than those easily overlooked boo-boos, they are in divine condition. See photos for condition details. Colors may vary in real life. Ask questions. less
