This collection of three vintage handmade turkey figures brings wonderful folk-art character and texture to your Thanksgiving display.

The grouping includes two wonderfully rustic turkeys crafted from natural pinecones and mounted on chunky wood bases, along with a small hand-carved wooden turkey with a beautifully simplified form. With its naïve carving, incised feather details and timeworn painted finish, the wooden turkey has the wonderful character of American folk carving and the handmade spirit associated with Tramp Art. The pinecone turkeys feature hand-painted details in warm autumnal reds and browns.

Each has its own personality, and the variations in materials, construction and finish are part of their handmade appeal. Displayed together, they make a particularly fun little collection of American folk and primitive-style holiday décor.

This turkey trio dates to Ms. H.'s childhood and well before, when they were part of a longtime family collection. Exact makers and dates are unknown. See less
