This elegant and commanding pair of monochrome white porcelain temple lidded jars (also classified as baluster or Meiping style jars).
These matching vessels showcase a minimalist aesthetic that bridges classic Chinoiserie silhouettes with clean, mid-century or modern interior styling.
Each jar features high, rounded shoulders that taper down to a narrow footed base, topped with beautifully proportioned, stepped domed lids with pointed finials. The surface is coated in a thick, semi-gloss milky white monochrome glaze (often referred to in Chinese ceramics as Blanc de Chine or Bai glaze) that reveals subtle, authentic poolings and organic surface character upon close inspection.
The pieces stand balanced and are free of structural chips or cracks, displaying beautifully as a mirrored set.
Perfect for flanking a large entryway mirror, grounding a console table, or filling out formal fireplace mantels. Their neutral palette allows them to transition smoothly across grand-millennial, minimalist modern, or coastal traditional aesthetics.
Very good vintage condition consistent with age and use.
Small imperfections as they are hand thrown, no chips or repairs. See less
