An exceptional 1960s Danish Modern teak side table attributed to Moreddi (Denmark). Renowned for importing high-caliber Scandinavian design to the American market, Moreddi pieces exemplify the era's dedication to organic minimalism, premium materials, and masterful engineering. This versatile two-tier accent piece functions beautifully as a living room end table, a bedside nightstand, or a sophisticated media/magazine stand. The table features a striking, rectangular tray-style top distinguished by subtly bowed, raised lip edges—a hallmark of authentic Danish craft that requires meticulously shaped solid wood. It is raised on slender, elegantly tapered round legs that lend the piece a lightweight, floating silhouette. Suspended below is an airy, natural magazine shelf, offering functional secondary storage without adding visual bulk. True to authentic Scandinavian engineering, the lower tier is structurally suspended and secured from view via original, recessed factory clamps. This intentional mid-century design feature allows the organic wood to naturally expand and contract while maintaining rigid structural integrity—a hidden detail that distinguishes true Danish imports from mass-produced domestic replicas of the era. The open-grain teak exhibits a gorgeous, warm golden-brown hue and beautiful figuring throughout.
Condition Report: Good vintage condition overall. The teak frame is structurally sound, and the original lower shelf remains taut and completely intact. A minor, localized ring mark is present on the lower shelf from historical use, as shown in the detailed photos. This cosmetic blemish blends naturally into the rich, age-earned patina and does not detract from the exceptional display quality of the piece. Clean undersides with all original internal fastening hardware present
