The sides are covered in vintage family photographs, all sealed under a glossy decoupage finish. The expressions and styling are warm, funny, and wonderfully kitschy in the best way. It captures a cheerful slice of everyday life from the 1960s.
The lid has small decorative cutouts, and the handle is a tortoise-look lucite bamboo style, classic to mid century novelty accessories. The interior is lined in deep red velvet and still holds a sheer yellow headscarf. It’s easy to imagine the original owner wearing the scarf to protect her hair, windows down, headed somewhere she wanted to look nice.
Measures approximately 5 inches tall, 9 inches across, and 6 1/2 inches deep. The clasp works and the purse is structurally sound. Light surface wear from age, but nothing distracting.
A joyful, one-of-a-kind wearable folk art purse. See less
