Dating to the mid-20th century, this sophisticated lamp beautifully captures the intersection of Hollywood Regency glamour and American Mid-Century Modern design.

The lamp’s distinctive geometric construction features four vertical brass columns with a richly aged, contrasting patinated finish. Each column transitions into a slender, polished brass cylindrical support before meeting the substantial square base. This interplay of squared and rounded forms, darkened and golden brass surfaces, creates a dramatic visual rhythm reminiscent of modernist architectural sculpture.

Of particular importance is the original oversized cylindrical drum shade, beautifully proportioned to complement the lamp’s architectural framework. Covered in a richly textured natural woven material in warm honey and golden tones, the shade introduces an organic counterpoint to the disciplined geometry of the brass base. Its warm interior lining and generous diameter create a beautiful, diffused illumination.

The lamp also retains its circular metal light diffuser, positioned beneath the shade to soften and distribute the illumination. This thoughtful construction demonstrates the attention to both aesthetics and lighting quality associated with fine American decorative lighting of the period.
