This vintage coffee table is a monumental slab of travertine, cut in the clean, architectural lines of a Parsons table. A thick, rectangular top overhangs on all sides and sits flush with substantial, square block legs at each corner, so the whole form reads as one continuous mass of stone. The travertine glows in warm sand, honey, and butter-cream, with long horizontal striations of caramel, taupe, and soft rose running the length of the top. Natural pits, fine fissures, and pale mineral flecks add the organic texture that gives travertine its character. The edges are crisp and squared, and the side faces show the same banded veining, turned vertical on the legs, which makes the grain appear to wrap around the corners. The surface has a smooth, honed, softly satin finish with a gentle sheen, and the stone carries a mellow, time-worn patina. The low, wide proportions give the table a grounded, sculptural presence, and the tonal variation keeps the monolithic form lively and warm. Its sheer mass and unbroken lines feel timeless and quietly luxurious.
Generously scaled, this table anchors a large living room, great room, or lounge, where it can sit before a sectional or between a pair of sofas and hold books, ceramics, and trays. It complements Modern Organic, Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, Coastal, and Palm Beach Chic interiors. The table measures 71.75 inches (1822 mm) wide, 42.25 inches (1073 mm) deep, and 17 inches (432 mm) high. Condition is very good: the stone shows a natural patina with minor surface scuffs and light wear consistent with age, with no significant chips or structural issues. For care, dust with a soft dry cloth, blot spills immediately, and use coasters and trays. Avoid acidic cleaners, which can etch travertine, and consider a stone-safe sealer. Because of its considerable weight, plan for professional delivery. Inquire today to secure this statement piece.
