An extraordinary pair of vintage carved wood urn table lamps featuring elaborate hand-applied seashell embellishments. Each substantial lamp showcases a classical urn-form body with decorative handles, carved leaf detailing, and a beautifully aged cream finish with areas of intentional-looking distressing and exposed wood tones.
An abundant assortment of natural seashells in varying shapes, sizes, and colors adorns the urns, handles, necks, and bases, creating richly textured, sculptural compositions. Larger scallop shells provide striking focal points, while countless smaller shells form intricate arrangements throughout.
The substantial carved wood bodies rest on heavy stone bases, adding to the impressive scale and presence of the pair.
These vintage lamps have undergone careful restoration of their decorative shellwork, including the addition of numerous shells to complement and preserve the existing compositions. Vintage condition with age-related wear and imperfections throughout. The original painted wood surfaces exhibit distressing, finish loss, crazing, and areas of exposed wood. The hand-applied seashell decorations have undergone restoration, with numerous additional shells incorporated into the existing designs. Some shells exhibit chips, cracks, breaks, and natural imperfections. Evidence of previous adhesive applications, including visible glue residue, remains in various areas throughout the shellwork. The stone bases exhibit minor surface wear and discoloration consistent with age. Vintage electrical components and sockets are present in working condition. Please review all photographs carefully, as the imperfections and handmade character are part of the history of these unique pieces.
