An exceptional Japanese-style armchair by Maison Perret & Vibert, also known as Maison des Bambous — France, circa 1890. Maison Conseil H. Bournay, the company behind the armchair, was Perret & Vibert's distributor.
Its architectural bamboo frame is distinguished by an exceptional sculptural back composed of four slender, curved uprights, each terminating in naturalistic ornaments in the form of stylized pine cones.
The armrests feature the same sculpted finials, giving the piece a spectacular and particularly original silhouette.
The armchair retains a beautiful antique patina and is upholstered in a black and beige zebra-striped fabric. This piece has an attribution mark,
