Early Dutch Delft blue and white vase from the Netherlands, featuring a sculptural shaped body with a richly decorated floral front panel, dense scrolling ground and applied dimensional flower heads at the neck and base. The reverse is more simply decorated with hand-painted cobalt blue foliate sprigs, while the faceted pedestal base and flared neck give the vase an elegant architectural form. The underside bears a hand-painted blue mark. Beautifully aged with visible glaze wear, chips and old losses consistent with its early manufacture and history. Bought in France.
