A vintage Italian Burl Walnut faux book end table with beautiful honey-colored Circassian Walnut veneer, the lift top lid over two working drawers with hammered iron work hinges and handles. Inside the drawer is a brass boss that states "Made in Italy Expressly for Bambergers".
Bambergers was a high-end division of Macy's that closed its doors in the 70's. The case rests on shell-carved cabriole legs. At 21" tall, it makes a perfect chair side end table or even a small coffee table with good storage. Probably dating from the 60's, it is ready to place with only moderate wear.
