Vintage Fratelli Fanciullacci. This ultra rare, pristine example of mid-century Italian art pottery, this hand-painted ceramic lidded bowl was crafted in the 1950s by the celebrated Fratelli Fanciullacci workshop in Montelupo, Italy.
The piece features a striking, stylized tulip and floral motif set against a vibrant aqua-turquoise glazed ground. Each white petal is beautifully framed with heavy, raised gold slip detailing (often referred to by collectors as a "gold braid" accent) alongside fine sgraffito details, yielding an elegant, tactile dimension.
The underside features the authentic, handwritten dark slip markings "201/1" over "ITALY," completely consistent with verified export wares produced prior to the catastrophic 1966 Florence floods that forever altered the factory's historical archives.
Boasting a flawless matching lid and an entirely immaculate finish, this centerpiece bowl is a true collector's find. It serves as a exceptional focal point for any collector of mid-century modern ceramics, Bitossi, or Italian majolica.
