Offered is a decorative object known as a Tibetan Dzi talisman (often referred to as a multi-eye or "thousand-eye" dzi bead) made of natural agate that has been embellished with graphic renderings. It is mounted on a custom-made black metal display stand.
"Dzi" means "shine, brightness, clarity, splendor" and the beads are believed to offer spiritual benefits and protection. In Central Asian and Tibetan cultures, the objects are considered protection from negative energy and to ward off the "evil eye". They are typically found in Tibet, Bhutan, and Ladakh.
It is a natural agate that has been etched or treated dark and white circular "eye" patterns.
By itself, the object measures: 11.75" W x 4" D and 4" H
The stand measures: 9" W x 4" D x 6.5" H

It was purchased on a trip to Tibet in the late 1980s and the forged iron stand was custom-made in in order to display it. The talisman is intact, however, there are some minor surface scuffs and discoloration (see photos). Any imperfections in the craftsmanship are innate, and any wear is commensurate with its age and past handling. less
