Antique English Dresser Sideboard Plate Rack Potboard Jacobean Tiger Oak c1900.
Direct from England, a distinctive antique oak sideboard with its original open plate rack and beautiful English tiger oak grain.
The tall, open plate rack upper features a traditional English crown with a moulded top edge and full-length scalloped edges below, with scalloping continuing down the entire length of the front sides. Both open shelves have double-grooved front edges, with plate grooves and a raised back edge for ease of display.
Almost 4.5 feet in length, the sideboard base features three beautifully grained tiger oak drawers with traditional brass batwing pulls on each drawer. The lower base includes four English turned oak legs to the front, with a full-length traditional ‘pot board’ that provides additional storage and display and completes the distinctive silhouette.
Quality craftsmanship of the period, with dovetailed drawers and traditional joinery, circa 1900.
