Its sculptural silhouette, richly darkened wood, and beautifully weathered surface reveal the character of a utilitarian object shaped by use and time. Distinctive aluminum tabs trace the vessel’s natural cracks in a rhythmic zipper-like pattern, reflecting a traditional approach to repair that extended the life of valued wooden vessels while becoming an integral part of their visual character. Both functional artifact and sculptural collectible, this vessel offers a tangible connection to the material traditions of Uganda and an evocative presence in collections of African art, ethnographic objects, and globally sourced interiors.
