Beautifully proportioned, the chest features four recessed panels across the front, two additional panels on each end, a broad molded top, and shaped bracket feet. The rich, even finish highlights the natural wood grain.

Exceptionally heavy and sturdy, the chest has a spacious wood interior and a hinged lid fitted with a metal support. Its traditional craftsmanship and restrained architectural design suggest the work of a skilled cabinetmaker or small furniture workshop.

This is a versatile piece offering generous storage for blankets, throws, linens, and equally at home in a traditional bedroom, country house, or thoughtfully layered contemporary interior.

JUNE'S THOUGHTS
I have always liked furniture that serves more than one purpose. With a beautifully tailored cushion, I can picture this chest at the foot of a bed or in an entry hall, but my favorite spot would be beneath a window in almost any room.

What especially appeals to me is its substantial construction. This is a remarkably heavy, solid piece of furniture. I also appreciate the paneled ends, which make it attractive from more than one angle. It's the sort of practical, well-made furniture that can move from room to room and remain useful for generations.
