ANTIQUE ITALIAN CARVED NIGHTSTANDS – MATCHED PAIR – CIRCA 1910s
Beautiful matched pair of antique Italian nightstands dating to the 1910s, featuring richly carved wood construction, original finish, and dark Italian marble tops with natural veining.
These substantial little bedside cabinets have exceptional decorative detail throughout. The raised backs feature elaborate carved floral and foliate ornament with a central carved crest. The cabinet fronts are also extensively carved with floral motifs, framed panels, decorative borders, and original-style brass hardware. The turned legs and carved lower aprons complete the ornate antique design.
The black marble tops have attractive natural veining, giving the pair a wonderful contrast to the warm brown wood. These would make an impressive addition to a traditional, European, Italian, or antique-inspired bedroom, and would also work beautifully as occasional cabinets or accent tables elsewhere in the home.
They are being offered as a matched pair, which is increasingly difficult to find with antique nightstands of this quality and decorative character.
CONDITION:
Original antique finish. Overall good condition for their age, with normal age-related wear consistent with furniture from the 1910s. There are areas of surface wear, minor imperfections, old worm holes, and some natural wood shrinkage from age and climate changes.
One of the marble tops has an old repair, which is visible in the photographs. The repair is part of the item's antique condition and is being fully disclosed.
Please examine all photographs carefully as they are an important part of the description and show the condition, carving, marble, hardware, and any visible imperfections.

Expect normal age-related wear, including surface wear and imperfections, old worm holes, and natural wood shrinkage. The carved surfaces have the expected minor signs of age associated with furniture over 100 years old. Both marble tops show natural age and wear. One marble top has an old repaired area, as shown in the photographs. Please review the photos carefully for additional condition details. There may be minor variations, marks, or imperfections not specifically mentioned here due to the age and handmade nature of the furniture. These are antique pieces, not new reproductions, and their age-related character is part of their appeal. Overall: Good original antique condition with honest age-related wear. less
