This exquisite piece showcases the signature Art Deco revival styling and exotic material innovation that launched the global acclaim of the Augousti brand.

The structure is meticulously wrapped in authentic cream shagreen (galuchat / stingray hide), celebrated for its naturally pebbled texture and pearlescent sheen. The facade features a striking, stylized trilobed leaf tessellation design. Unlike typical surface overlays, the patinated bronze-finish metal framework is integral to the piece—crossing directly through and segmenting the leaf pattern to serve as both a structural frame and a stark, graphic outline. Each organic leaf form is intricately inset with contrasting dark exotic skin and seamlessly integrated into the geometric wooden frame.

This particular piece carries significant historical provenance as a first US import,
originally curated during the mid-1990s as part of an exclusive, high-end global artisan capsule collection for Saks Fifth Avenue, Dadeland, Miami, Florida. The underside features the authentic gold-stamped "R & Y Augousti Paris - Made in the Philippines" workshop signature mark.

A quintessential collector’s piece, this functional work of art perfectly complements Postmodern, Hollywood Regency, and eclectic luxury interiors.
