This exhibition-scale vessel is covered in a richly textured "volcanic" or "scavo" turquoise and deep teal glaze. The heavy, tactile stippling catches the light beautifully, evoking the rugged allure of ancient artifacts or mid-century Euro-modernist studio pottery.

The defining feature of this piece is its striking zoomorphic design: the side handles transition seamlessly into stylized, sculpted bird or swan heads that anchor back into the rim.

The rounded, classic amphora body is set upon a high-gloss black display pedestal base. Added by a previous collector for enhanced stability and modern contrast, the base transforms the heavy ceramic body into a museum-ready sculptural statement while safely protecting fine furniture tops.

Perfect for anchoring a maximalist mantel, grounding a grand entryway console table, or adding a vibrant pop of color to an eclectic Hollywood Regency or Mid-Century Modern interior.
