It has on the bottom a single diamond and "I” which shows it was made between 1915 and 1929.

The purple tint is due to manganese in the pre-1920s glass formula reacting to decades of daylight, and the bottle itself likely served as a commercial medicine panel or spirits flask during the World War I or Prohibition era.

This antique glass bottle has a rectangular body with rounded shoulders and a short neck, often referred to as a utility flask or apothecary/medicine bottle.

The mold seam runs all the way up past the top lip confirms that this bottle is 100% automatic machine-made (ABM) rather than hand-blown. The Illinois Glass
Company installed its first automatic bottle-blowing machines around 1910.
Since the bottle has a full seam and features the "Diamond I" mark, it falls
perfectly into the machine-manufactured era of 1915 to 1929.

The Bottle is in Very Good antique condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The bottle shows some surface cloudiness and light weathering, which is very normal for glass that has been dug up or stored in a barn.

The Bottle measures 10 3/4” Tall x 3 3/4” Wide x 2 1/8” Deep. It weighs 1 pound 4.4 ounces or 579 grams. See less
