Measuring an impressive 16.5 inches in diameter, this remarkable piece showcases traditional craftsmanship and generations of character. The hand-worked surfaces display beautiful carving marks, natural wood grain, deep patination, and the irregularities that make authentic primitive objects so desirable.
One of its most distinctive features is the carved wooden attachment fitted with an aged carrying or hanging loop. Particularly interesting are the old wire repairs, carefully threaded through the wood to reinforce areas of cracking. These repairs contribute to the bowl’s rustic charm and tell a story of preservation and continued use.
The beautifully weathered finish ranges from warm earthy browns to deep charcoal tones, creating a striking contrast between the interior and exterior.
A wonderful statement piece for a farmhouse dining table, rustic kitchen, entryway console, or curated collection of antique folk art and early utilitarian objects. See less
