The group includes 3 large tapered "billy club style" bobbins with deeply grooved bases, slender turned-wood quills, smaller spool forms, and examples with aged metal fittings. All will stand alone, and they range in height from approx. 13" to 6".

Originally used in textile manufacturing, the pieces retain their utilitarian construction and wonderful factory-worn surfaces. The natural wood tones range from pale honey to deep brown, with darkened patina, old finish, staining, scratches, chips and traces of former use adding substantial character.

Displayed together, the varied heights and silhouettes create a strong sculptural grouping well suited to industrial, rustic, farmhouse, or collected interiors. They would work beautifully arranged in a basket, crock, open shelving display, sewing room, or textile-themed collection. See less
