Originating from the historic glassmaking regions of the Czech Republic circa 19 50–19 60, this heavy, egg-shaped statement piece beautifully demonstrates the complex “cases glass” technique, master glass cutters, achieved this luminous by using a rich layer of intense cobalt blue glass over brilliant, clear, lead crystal core, then meticulously cutting away the blue layer with a diamond wheel to reveal the intricate architectural pattern beneath.

The vase features a dramatic, deeply carved central Papmette / leaf motif, flanked by stylized thumbprints, fine-line fan elements, and an expensive field of crisp cross-hatch micro-facets that catch and reflect the light brilliantly.
