It features a distinct coiled upper rim, a hand-molded looping edge, and handcrafted handles on either side of the rim, (with the potter's thumbprint apparent) along with a beautifully formed pour spout in excellent condition.
The exterior remains unglazed, showcasing the rich rustic texture of regional French clay, while the interior boasts a vibrant glossy ochre-yellow glaze spread across the deep basin.
On the bottom, there are three deliberate circular impressions—both glazed and colored—arranged in a triangular formation, commonly referred to as pernette, marks for the stacking positioning of multiple bowels. This confirms it was designed for secure stacking or suspension during production in an old-style regional kiln. The center plug, now closed and blending seamlessly with the historic color and patina, was originally the central drain plug.
