A louis xv style salon armchair with a mahogany brown varnished wood frame. The medallion-shaped back features a molded and carved border typical of the rococo style. The slightly flared cabriole legs are finished in glossy lacquer.
the upholstery is entirely made of cream-ground jacquard tapestry, decorated with polychrome floral bouquets—roses, peonies, and foliage—in shades of pink, mauve, yellow, and green. A pale pink braided trim neatly borders the seams between the tapestry and the frame.
the compact proportions and the characteristics of its construction date this piece to the early 20th century, produced in the louis xv style.
overall condition: the frame is solid. Some flaking is visible at the base of the legs, revealing the bare wood in places—a few minor restorations are recommended in these areas. The tapestry is in good visual condition.
