The intimate close-up presents Jones in a relaxed domestic setting, seated comfortably and smiling with his hand resting across his chest. The informal composition reflects the warmth and charisma that made Jones one of the most respected and influential figures in twentieth-century music, while capturing him at the height of an extraordinary career spanning jazz, film scoring, popular music, and television production. The reverse retains the original Playboy editorial identification label, inscribed with the subject ("Quincy Jones"), photographer ("Amy Freitag"), date ("7/90 INTV"), reproduction rights notice, and editorial file number ("MS1238"), confirming the photograph's use in connection with a Playboy interview conducted in July 1990.
