The silver bears the German crescent-and-crown hallmark together with the 800 fineness mark. Despite its elegant proportions, the vase weighs an impressive 1.25 kilograms, reflecting the extraordinary thickness and quality of the crystal. Its surface is decorated with deeply cut oval reserves, radiant starbursts, elongated fan motifs and finely notched borders. The numerous precisely angled facets capture and reflect the light beautifully, giving the vase exceptional brilliance, depth and movement. The solid silver mount is shaped with a softly rounded, projecting rim and retains its original engraved presentation inscription. This historic dedication gives the piece an individual character and provides an authentic connection to its period. The vase demonstrates a level of craftsmanship that required considerable experience, precision and working time. Comparable hand-cut crystal and fitted solid-silver work would today be found almost exclusively among the highest levels of bespoke luxury production. As an original antique, this vase therefore offers extraordinary craftsmanship and material quality at a comparatively accessible price when measured against newly commissioned pieces of a similar standard. The crystal remains in excellent antique condition without chips or cracks. The silver shows minor age-related surface wear and one very small dent to the rim, which does not detract from the overall appearance. A refined and highly decorative example of German turn-of-the-century craftsmanship, equally suitable as a functional flower vase, a collector’s object or an elegant accent within both classical and contemporary interiors.
