A slim, overhanging top with a softly rounded edge crowns three stacked drawers set within a simple post-and-rail frame. The upper drawer front is chip-carved in dark wood with a zigzag border along its top and bottom edges, framing a central motif of mirrored, leaf-shaped blades that meet at a round brass knob. The two lower drawers are decorated differently, with pierced, elongated openings cut through the fronts and framing a carved, baluster-like silhouette on either side of a square central boss. Domed brass knobs sit at the center of each drawer, their warm golden tone standing out against the deep chocolate and espresso finish. Two tones of stain, near-black on the frame and top and reddish mahogany on the lower drawers, add rich contrast and depth. Short, squared legs lift the case slightly off the surface. The finish is mellowed with a soft, aged patina, and the carving shows the hand-cut irregularity that gives such pieces their character.

Compact and full of personality, this chest suits a desk, dresser, console, bookshelf, or entry table, where it can hold jewelry, keepsakes, stationery, or small desk items. It complements Traditional, Rustic, Folk Art, Eclectic, and Colonial interiors. The chest measures 10.75 inches wide, 5.75 inches deep, and 8.25 inches high. Condition is good: the original finish shows age-appropriate wear and patina, with noticeable scuffs and scratches on the drawer fronts and edges, and the piece is structurally sound with all original elements intact. For care, dust with a soft dry cloth, avoid water and harsh cleaners, and refresh occasionally with a quality furniture wax. Inquire today to add this charming piece to your collection. See less
