Carved from wood and finished in warm gold paint, the turtle is rendered with detailed carving that defines its textured shell and scaled limbs, giving the piece a lifelike sense of movement while retaining a stylized elegance. A warm patina has developed across the surface, softening the gold into a rich, aged glow, and the smooth wood grain beneath the paint adds subtle depth. Small spots where the paint has worn away reveal its age and history without diminishing its charm. Turtles have long symbolized longevity and good fortune, making this a meaningful accent as well as a decorative one. Its manageable size makes it easy to place atop a stack of books, at the center of a tablescape, or within a curated grouping of carved and gilt objects. The gold finish and natural motif suit Hollywood Regency, Boho, coastal, and eclectic collected interiors alike.

The figure measures approximately 10.75" W x 6.75" D x 4.75" H. It is in very good vintage condition. The painted finish is largely intact with a warm patina appropriate for its age, and minor surface wear, small scuffs, and a few spots of missing paint are present but do not detract from the overall appearance. The piece is structurally sound with no visible repairs or losses. As with all vintage pieces, minor signs of age and use may be present; please review the photos carefully as part of the condition description. See less
