Magnificent louis xiii style solid walnut writing desk, dating from the 19th century.
its four turned baluster legs with bulbous feet lend the piece the elegant sturdiness characteristic of the louis xiii style. The h-shaped stretcher, adorned with a turned finial in the shape of an urn and hexagonal knots at the intersections, testifies to remarkable craftsmanship.
the walnut top reveals a generous natural grain, with visible knots and a warm, honey-brown patina. Its beveled molding frames the whole with understated elegance. The single drawer, embellished with a superb silver-plated metal handle with scrolls and a pendant, adds a refined touch to the front.
the signs of wear, superficial cracks, and small chips are the mark of authenticity and a precious history—nothing has been concealed.
dimensions: h 75 cm × w 97 cm × d 56.5 cm. Weight: 15 kg.
