Due to its very small dimensions — 40 × 48 × 32 cm — it is a children's/miniature rocking chair, not an adult chair. Children's rocking chair, "slipper rocker" type. England, probably late Victorian period / early 20th century - c. 1880–1910. The structure is particularly elegant: two long curved side elements simultaneously form the backrest, the seat support, and the rocking glides, creating that very characteristic X-profile when viewed from the side. The seat and backrest form practically a continuous upholstered surface. Made of mahogany wood and upholstered in olive-green velvet, applied with a sequence of metal tacks. There are records of miniature rocking chairs very close in size. Children's rocking chair, in mahogany wood, with a curved profile structure and rocking glides. Seat and backrest upholstered and covered in olive-green velvet, finished with metal studs. Late 19th/early 20th century. Signs of use and gluing, consistent with its age. 40 × 48 × 32 cm. See less
